Has anybody used the load match button on the console for extended periods of time? I had the load match engaged while I was using a 8' rear blade for leveling dirt for about 1/2 hour and then I notice that the hydro kept cutting in and out, like someone was hitting the brakes. I ended up turning it off, and everything starting working normally. I was under the impression that this option was used to keep the motor from dragging down during heavy loads, not just on the loader, but also from implements. Is it ok to turn this option on for an extended period of time, or is just used every time you go to pick up a heavy load, which would be a pain in the a$$?

I had a 2002 4310 with about 110 hours that was acting the same way. I always left loadmatch turned on. I know I was mowing when I noticed it. By chance I turned loadmatch off and it seemed to return to normal. I was going to call my dealer about it but I traded this past summer for a 4410. To date I have not seen the same issue with the 4410.

I was wondering if there were any computer updates for the e-hydro from 2002 to my current 2003 model. I thought I read at one time about some creeping issue that was corrected by a updated computer board but I'm not sure. I think there was also a user who had a hydro issue that required that the board be replaced.

It might not hurt to call your dealer and see if they would contact Deere tech with your issue and get there reply. My Dealer has been really good about that. They call me back and tell me they made the call and here is the answer they got. You might also want to have them ask about about possible computer board updates. Interesting concept. Updating the firmware for your compact.

The dealer told me not to run it for an extended period of time with Load match on, but I was under the impression that you could run it constantly. I would imagine that if JD did not want you to have it on all the time, there would be all kinds of warnings in the manual, which there is not. The 4310 that I have is an early 2002, you guys may be right about the 02 models. If anybody else shows no problems with theirs, could you please state what year model you own.
Thanks

'03 - no problems, I leave it on! You are right on about warnings in the manual, Deere would never be too shy to place a warning if one was warranted!

I say this over and over. Dealers support such a broad range of equipment, they may err (hopefully on the side of safety, and still be great friends.

Your right about safety at JD dealers. When a mower comes in with a broken chute we fix it and when I mow grass for the dealer I have to keep the safety guard in place to set a good example for customers. PTO shafts and MMMs are dangerous as well as other parts of the tractor so stay safe guys. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

2003 4410 no problems. When I turn it off I tend to find the tractor bogging down and losing rpms. I prefer having it on at all times.

Your jerking with Load Match on could be an engine speed sensor problem or a throttle sensor out of calibration. Both are pretty easy fixes by a dealer technician. However, before you call the dealer, you might want to check if the throttle rod has slipped at the engine.

Remove the right side panel and find where the rod coming from the throttle connects to the swivel at the engine. With the throttle handle all the way back, start moving it slowly forward. If the handle moves much at all without moving the throttle rod, then it has slipped. To fix, loosen the hex screw at the swivel (4 mm, I think), pull the throttle handle all the way back, then apply slight tension to the rod while retightening. Tighten it good. It is easy and at least worth a quick check.

Roger it's funny that you mention "calibration". I had it in the dealer last week, and they did an update for the 02' that called for some type of "calibration". I am assuming that it had something to do with the speed. I never really put a load on the tractor before I took it in, so I am not sure if this caused my problem or not. I talked to the dealer and he said bring it in, they will put a guy on it to either troubleshoot it or do the research neccessary to find out if this is a known problem and what steps need to be taken to resolve this issue. They are very busy with harvest season going on. The only problem I have is that it only seems to happen after an extended period of time when the tractor is hot and under a load, not sure they are going to be able to duplicate. I will keep you guys posted with any updated information I receive.
Thanks
