I just discovered that my new 5030 has loaded tires and remember reading that the BH90 book says not to have loaded tires with the backhoe. Any idea why not? Someone else's recent post indicated that they were doing that without trouble (other than a rotted out valve stem). Can the tires/axle not take the weight of both or is it just an efficiency thing? I'd hate to lose the benefit of the loaded tires when doing loader work without the hoe attached.

My brother has a L3130 loaded tires with the bh90 hasn't had any problems yet. We have had this set up for about two years. The hoe stays on most of the time even in the winter when we push an 8" Curtis snow pusher for commercial snow removal. Hope this helps.

I drained the Calcium out of my B7800 rear tires. Wtih the subframe backhow and loaded tires I was sinking too deep into the yard. If I run without the backhoe I'll get a weight box. More options that way.

I had loaded tires on a B7500 when using the BH with no problems for two years of service and I also have loaded tires on my L2800 with a BH75 and still no problems.
My BB weighs as much as the BH and I need loaded tires to use the BB so it really doesn't make any sense.

There was a thread a couple years ago about this. As I recall, the opinion was that the combination of loaded tires + BH puts the total weight of the tractor over the design specs of the ROPS, so it could be a liability issue in an accidental rollover.

That does make some sense if you think about it. 1,000 lbs of loaded tires + more than 2,000 lbs of BH + 1,500 lbs of 853 FEL + 3,700 to 4,000 lbs of tractor... you're somewhere north of 8,000 lbs!

The ROPS on my L4610 + 4560 BH is rated for 7,500 lbs - it's marked on the serial number plate of the ROPS - and the one for your L5030 + BH90 will probably be somewhat more... maybe 8,000-8,500... you can check it out for yourself.

Beyond that, the combination of loaded tires + BH90 is probably not going to do any harm, but if your rear axle fails and you try to make a warranty claim, well, you know what the manufacturer could say if they wanted to be hard-nosed about it.
