CK3510SE--sprung a leak. 5-paw Kioti dealer closed till Tuesday. Non-5-paw dealers seem to only stock filters, etc. Does anyone know if a Kubota (or other?) line can be used? Are these things fairly universal? Dumb question: after I change it, any bleeding needed? Or just top off hydraulic fluid?

Thanks!

Any hydraulic or tractor shop, regardless of brand, can repair it. Problem is going to be finding one on the july 4th holiday. The system should self bleed afterwards. Hoses are not brand specific

Interesting spot for a leak. Did you pull apart, Teflon tape and put back together?. Did you crush it with something? As others have stated, take it off and bring to shop. I found a local hydraulic place one time and the put together a new hose for me

Make sure that it just doesn't need to be tightened.

I had that happen once - connection had slowly unscrewed and started to leak. Just tightened it and it has been fine since.

As Seville009 says tighten it first, it may just have worked loose. Had that happen before.
Also even if it is tight you may be able to tighten it a little more to reduce or stop the leak so you can use the tractor over the long weelend.
If tightening does not work drop the loader to keep the tractor mobile until you repair the hose.

Yes, that most likely needs tightening. Before you do it, review safety around pressurized hydraulic lines, high pressure oil hitting you can cause miserable injury. The manual for your tractor will provide safety measures.

Blue Planet,

Thanks for pic. It looks like there is hydraulic fluid where the connector is crimped to the hose, if so then tightening/ sealing connector is not the problem. Hoses are generic but threaded connections are not and contributor 5030 has good suggestions about who might be open on July 4 weekend. You will have to identify what the connector style is. Forcing another hose on with incorrect thread will permanently damage the thread on the elbow.

Kioti web site may have info on thread/ connectors they use.

Hydraulic systems are self bleeding since fluid return to a reservoir where entrained air floats to top and is vented and pump in fluid picks up fresh fluid. Check reservoir fluid level and top as appropriate.

Good luck

By the way, I had a bucket hose bust on me one time when I was brush hogging. I just raised it up to about level and didn't use the bucket; I was able to still drive it without fluid spraying out.

I mention that in case you need to drive it. I don't recommend using it with it leaking - just saying that you will be ok to move it if you need to.

Thanks everyone for the advice! Pretty sure the leak is caused by--ironically--the helical wire guard cutting into the hose. Fittings are all tight.
