I purchased an L3400 approx. 6 months ago. For the last couple of months, I have been looking for a loader with either a grapple or 4-in-1 bucket - currently leaning toward the grapple. The dealer where I purchased the tractor, sells bush hog loaders, but bush hog doen't make grapples to fit the loader. The dealer will sell me the bush hog loader for 3600 and a grapple or 4-in-1 from another manufacturer for an additional 2500 dollars. That is more than I want to spend for the loader combination, so I have been looking at the possibility of buying a loader/grapple combination and installing it myself. The problem I am having is buying an adapter from Kubota to access the tractor hydraulics. The dealer wants to sell me a kit for rear hydraulics for $800 which evidently includes the adapter. The adapter to fit my tractor hydraulics is all I need. Have checked with another dealer and they want the same kind of money and will only sell me the kit. Loader manufactureres like Bush Hog evidently make their own adapters. Has anyone out there had any experience putting on their own loaders. Thanks in advance for the advice.
