Loader problem

My wife was turning our manure pile when the raised bucket on our B2910 lost power and came down to the ground and will not raise. It curls and dumps, though. The control level feels like it is stuck - I can't move it up or down. I removed the loader and have the same problem - can't move the control.

While I just bought the tractor last weekend, it only has 380 hours on it and has been really well maintained. Any ideas on what this might be?

There is a cover over the FEL linkage. Remove the two bolts holding the cover on. A bolt attaches the raise and lower portion of the valve to the control arm. The linkage may have broken or need to be lubricated.

Check the loader control valve (the joystick for the loader is attached to it). The is a universal type linkage that allows for 8 different positions of which 7 are typically used. My guess is you lost a bolt on one of the linkages. I lube mine every so often as this is one linkage that will wear quickly.

Sounds like She may have put it in the float position. How hard are you trying to pull on the lever when you say it's stuck? Give the lever a sharp pull to see if it comes out of the float detent.

I just bought a loader for my BX. After the tractor was brought back (driver took it off the trailer, we talked and he left), I had the same problem. Thought it was broken but couldn't figure out how that could be as he had just lowered it, so gave it a good smack downward on the handle and it popped right out of the float position. Seems to have loosened up some after that.

Thanks for the suggestions. Turns out that it just needed to be lubricated. I took the whole hydraulic arm apart, lubed it up and its working great.
