loader question

Just got my little tractor yesterday! We have got about r inches of snow and I wanted to clean up the driveway. I have the LL2100 loader on my tractor. I see in the manual where then loader has a float mode but I'm not quite understanding how to engage it. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Push the control fully forward.

Float is usually forward while pushing down (towards earth) on the grip, just one fluid motion.

I'm new to the whole float deal in a loader. Actually this is the first tractor I've owned with a loader but I'll try to answer your question the way it was explained to me. The float mode allows you to "set" your bucket at a specific height and angle and the disengage it. It will "float" up and down over the terrain. I used it the other day while moving snow and it worked well. It didn't let the bucket dig in to the pavement as bad. I tried it both ways and it was useful

Push the stick all the way forward. You will feel it kind of click into float. It will stay there until you pull back to get out of float.

Float basically eliminates the down pressure of the hydraulics on the bucket. You can still control the angle
of the bucket while in float, helps out while plowing snow etc, allows the bucket to "float" over the surface you are grading or scraping.

Very helpful when trying to level some dirt or gravel also. works even better if the bucket is full of whatever you are leveling since it adds weight.
