I have noticed that when I lower the loader or roll the bucket back it really works the engine almost to the point of stalling even with wide open throttle. However when I raise the loader or dump the bucket, the engine doen't seem to work at all. So I have discerned the problem exsists when retracting the cylinders but not when extending them. Any suggestions?

I'm a hyd dummy, but something is wrong. Oil is not properly flowing back to the resovior, and must be pushing through the relief valve, which really heats the oil up. Not good to keep using it like that, not that one or 2 cycles will do any damage.

Probably not important to know, as you just need to have this fixed, but what tractor, loader, & is it factory controls or home-brewed? Always nice to know such info when checking these things...

The first thing that I would do is check the quick disconnects on the hoses. A lot of the time, they will look like they are seated and they won't be.

The tractor is a Ford 1310 with a 770B loader and single lever control.
