Thanks this is exactly what I was looking for.

I am looking at the Prince valves that are rated at 25 gpm. My book on my Kubota M5030SU 4WD says it has 9.2 gpm supply and the most I find online ratings for it is 13 gpm. Should I look for a 10 gpm valve to give better control for my FEL or will the 25 gpm valve be OK?

A 10 gpm valve will give you better control.
The first one you mentioned should work but it looks like you will need a power beyond sleeve. I don't see the sleeve at Northern. Are you sure you saw the valve at TSC?

Here is a very similar valve at Surplus Center. It has a regenerative bucket dump feature which is a plus. Check out the "Instructions" link.

This is the power beyond sleeve. Looking at the manual for the valve at Northern, this sleeve will work with that one too.

Thanks Brad. I thought I read somewhere that the regenerative option was faster but might result in less power. Is there a down side to that option.
I am trying to be sure that some cable remotes from Surplus will match the Brand valve and get the right adapter for this. I just need to see if I can mount the valve in the same place as the Kubota valve that I should have gotten 20 years ago will work for this valve. It takes a lot hoses, fittings and disconnects but I have decided to go ahead with the changes.
I retired a few months ago from a chemical plant and have been working on any project that I can to make the farm work easier for an old man. I converted my loader to the skid stear quick connect (of course my loader is wider than the new ones so had to build to fit) and am in the process of changing all of my attachments. This forum has been a great help and everyone has been very helpful. Thanks to all.

On the valve that Brad posted above, the regen function lever is all the way to the right, and will dump the bucket about 4 times faster. You don't have to use it all the time, and yes, you do lose some power. If you try to raise the front wheels off the ground in regen, you probably can not, where as the normal curl down will probably raise the front end.

Thanks JJ. I think I will get the valve without regen which is avaliable at Northern either way. I like more power when ever I can get it.

I reread your post and got the message this time. The regen function is just in the far postion of the stick and would not be used all of the time just when needed to dump the bucket. If so I think it is a good feature.
