While gathering information to justify purchasing a dump trailer I came across testimonials to the Loadhandler. I was previously aware of this device but I always figured it was a waste of money. After watching the video on the loadhandler website I now understand how simple and effective this thing is. I think it will do the job for me.
I have a couple questions to ask of the members who have loadhandlers.
1) What is the diameter of the shaft?
2) How long is the handle?
Thanks.

I have done paint and body work most of my life and I cannot see putting that much strain on a tailgate?
And I did watch the video on their site
scary , think about it 3,000 pounds pull on a tailgate? not for me

I plan on bolting it to the deck of one of my trailers. None of them have a tailgate that is up to the job.
On the dump trailer note. A friend was over helping me set trusses yesterday. He was telling me about a dump box his father once had. The box sat in the back of the pickup truck. Under the box was a bag (bladder) that sat in the middle of the bed. The bag had a 10' hose with a check valve and a bleeder valve. You loaded the box with material and when you wanted to dump you stuck the hose over the exhaust of the truck. The bag inflated and tilted the dump box to the rear. Not certain how effective this gizmo was but it certainly was ingenious.

Timber, those kits look great. Unfortunately the only truck I own is a 1949, F47 (F1 in the US). It's not ready for that kind of work.

A guy at work has one, and he swears by it, he has even unloaded a yard of gravel out of his pick up and he said "No problem".
He claims his bedliner helps it slide much better. When he knows he is going to use it, he wipes his bedliner with armor-all, or silicon spray, then he says a small boy could crank it easily.

Here is my question:

I have a single axle trailer, bed dimension are 6' 6" wide by 12 feet long,
why don't they make one for a standard landscape type trailer?
Has anyoen seen one like this?

It would be great to unload a couple yards of mulch or some dirt.

I think I read that the pull sheets are 15' long. You could buy two, over lap them and make your own super sized loadhandler. Pillow block bearings, shaft and handle. The sheets can be purchased on the web site for $18 each and are up to 52" wide. Two 40" sheets would work well for your trailer.

A 49 sweet, I have a 1989 3/4 ton 4x4 that is a perfect candidate for the conversion. Like I don't have enough projects going on. But a dump truck is something I really need around hear myself.

I have the Load Handler 3000 and the diameter of the shaft is 1" and it is solid with self aligning bearings on each end. I have seen lighter versions that had a hollow shaft and bushings instead of bearings. My handle is now 16" long, I shortened it since the wagon that the Load Handler is attached to is lower than a P/U. The drag sheet is 52" wide and 15' long and fastened to the shaft with three strips of duct tape so you have to keep a couple of wraps on the shaft. Haven't seen or heard of anyone tearing up their tailgate with one. You'd have to see it work to believe how easy they are to operate, when I first saw the ads, I thought they were snake oil too.
