Loading a riding mower

UPDATE: I fashioned a harness out of heavy rope and looped them around the frame next to the wheels. Attached the hook from a come-along with a long cable (standard looped cable will not be long enough). Ran a chain between the bottom tie-downs at the front of the bed, then attached the hook at the end of the cable to this, and started ratcheting. Worked great.

Don't want to drag around my 18' trailer I use for my tractor, and I just acquired a new riding mower. Also bought some arched ramps for loading it into the bed of a pickup. I've got some ideas, but does anyone have a sure-fire way to make loading and unloading it a one-man operation?

I had my share of close calls loading tractors...
So I bolted a chunk of 4" channel across the back of my truck by the back window. Then I mounted a winch in the middle of it... I made a extended handle that comes over to the side of the bed, so I can crank it standing along side the drivers door and crank away... Its so easy loading and unloading with no help from anyone...
