My assumption is that you are trying to find AG tires to install on your original wheels, correct? My suggestion is to visit your Kubota dealer and ask for a complete set of AGs already mounted on new wheels....tell him to price it as a set when ordered with a new tractor...should be around $300, which is probably way cheaper than what tires only, plus mounting will cost you. If the dealer prices them individually, it would probably make you pass out, but it seems that you can get the whole set very reasonably, you just might have to wait until they place a tractor order.

This way, you will still have you turfs mounted on wheels, in case you would want to swap back and forth (I do).

Kubota has changed to a 10" front wheel with a slightly lower profile on the BX. You can order a set of turfs, Ags, which you want, or Industrials from your dealer or any Kubota Dealer for around $400, wheels and tires. Set of 4.

The older 8" front wheel is going to be a little harder to locate, I have a feeling. Most folks have been told they are discontinued. The actual tire diameter of the new 10" is the same as the older 8". The ratios remain in tact.

I tried to exchange my bx 23 tire and wheel for a bx 24 front tire and wheel at the dealer I bought it from and they refused to deal so they cant be too much of a shortage on them

Perhaps they only want to deal with sets? Not single's? I dunno. On a different thread, someone posted an email response from Kubota stating that the 8" wheel/tire combo had been discontinued.

Tell you what though. Bet you could ebay that baby!!

To start with, the Ag tires are quite probably an entirely different size than the turfs or R4s, and are meant to fit a narrower two piece rim, not the welded type the R4s go on.

I seriously doubt you're going to get 4 new tires and rims for $400, to me that is the price difference, expressed either as a credit or an additional cost when you specify a different tire/rim combination on a new tractor order.

Mine came with AG tires as standard equipment, the dealer told me they typically order in only R4 equipped tractors, that is their best seller. Final price was the same, they were prepared to switch to my tire of choice at no additional cost (or credit) to me.

I've never seen such a simple question draw so many answers that are pure speculation !!

No speculation here. I just ordered and installed a set of 4 wheels and R4 tires from my Kubota dealer. Yup. $400. My BX came with turfs. There are a dozen guys here who have ordered a full set BX tires and wheels from Whole Goods for that or less. I don't understand the tone of your post. Oh, and BXs don't have split rims either.

Before and after photos below.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Maybe this will clear up some of the confuston. The tire on the right is an Ag tire. Know as an A1 tire. The tire next to it is an Industrial tire. Known as a R4 or some are R1's. The Ag tire has much more agressive bars and is narrower. The R4 is a wider tire that has wider flatter ribs that are closer together. It usually has a harder side wall to with stand loader type work. Hope this helps.
