Yeah I looked at that on ebay too - I think it's up over $650 now. Thanks for the link on Chalkers - I'll check them out - need a few items (landscape rake, rotary cutter, snowblower, etc.) They are probably about an hour or so from me.

Yeah, that's all the PDF catalog I have has in it too. The valve did come with a 'generic' sort of spec sheet/instructions for the LS-3xxx series of valves - but there is no differentiation between the various models - just lists an LS-3000 (typical, featues may vary with model no. consult catalog)

There's some merit to that for sure - if nothing else you get the advantage of getting the expertise of somebody who really knows hydraulics. I don't have much problem getting "obsolete" or discontinued items - if they're functional and work - although with more expensive items not being able to get parts would definitely be an issue.

Yup, exactly - that's the plan at the moment.

I haven't called anybody yet - I've been pretty busy (during normal business hours) with a variety of things over the last few weeks. I will give Kevin a call and see what they have. I need to pick up a 4" x 24" cylinder as well for the dump cart - I may just get that since I need it anyways and see how it performs with my pump. That should give me an idea of what I'm looking at performance-wise, at least in terms of pump flow and cylinder cycle speed.

That's without a doubt true - in fact, I wouldn't be in the business I'm in today if one couldn't study and learn on one's own. I have no formal (school) training in it whatsoever - I just took something that I had an interest in and had been messing around with, decided I liked doing it and became professional at it by studying and doing.

Thanks for the encouragement on the hunt - I'll post how it turns out.
