Hey I'm new here and I'm trying to figure out how big of a hydraulic tank I need for my log splitter I'm building. I have a 5x2x30 piston and a 16 gpm pump, any suggestions?

What I have been reading by what I would consider seasoned pros, is for every gallon your pump is rated, the same for a tank, so a 16 gallon tank. I think the reasoning is for cooling. So, if I am correct, if you do not run it a whole lot for extended periods a smaller tank will work. Look for member J_J, the guy seems to really know his stuff.
