Log Splitters

That is a licensed Honda engine, China made no doubt. I am looking at a generator with the same series engine on it. I know a few people with them, and they seem happy with them.

Good Mornin Will,
Thats a very nice unit you have on your Massey ! I kind of wish that I had the splitting wedge on the back of my splitter also, like yours ! I ended up getting a heck of a deal on my Speedco, which was a rental unit that was used a HD, so beggars cant be choosers ! ;) I do have the Honda engine 8 HP, 27 ton unit and it will split anything, even cut through it if it wont split ! But the wedge on the back would be real nice ! :)

My father-n-law has a brave and he is the second owner. Never a problem with the splitter but the B/S engine has had carb problems. Good splitter all in all.

That is a NICE unit, and Honda powered is a bonus. If one like yours was available, I would have bought it too. Rental places are always a good place to look.

Excellent buy!! :)

If that thing could mount upside down all you'd have to do is mosey up to the rounds with the tractor and split them where they lay. Saw something like that mounted to a skid steer. Saves alot of handling.

Are you looking at 3PT hydraulic or stand alone?? For us, a 3PT was the one we wanted, one fuel source, one engine to maintain, and easy to take in the bush, or where ever we are splitting.

Here are a few pics from this weekend.

We made some legs for the splitter, works great and makes it easier on the tractor when splitting real heavy wood, plus makes it easier to just pull up and connect the hoses.

And when needed, just take them off, lower it and roll the wood on. :)

I used to fight those big rounds until I got an 80cc and 93cc chainsaw. Now I just saw them into manageable sized rounds. I can saw them down to size faster than I can screw around trying to get them on the splitter.

That's a real nice looking tractor and splitter! I still like a stand alone
splitter just because I put the split wood into the bucket.

I always thought that I'd want a 3-point splitter for the same "one engine, one fuel" reason. Then I had to figure out how to pull the trailer too. And carry the big stuff with bucket. Ended up taking someone else's homemade splitter and adding my old riding mower engine and starting system (electric start is WONDERFUL!). Those parts combined with my supurb (not) welding skills yielded "FrankenSplitter". Not a site to behold, but functional and VERY low cost.
