Harv and MarkV, that's very interesting. I don't have quick attach forks, but Harv's picture sure looks a great deal like what I have. My brother traded for a used set of 4' forks off a regular forklift and described for me a set on front of a tractor that he had seen, so we did did a little cutting and welding; welded brackets on either end of the bucket, but I have to get off the tractor and slide that pipe at the top through those brackets to put mine on. And as MarkV said, you do want to be careful about the extra leverage to avoid damage by having those forks so far out in front. The best thing about mine is the fact that a few welding rods is all it cost me./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

If you check out the thread titled "L4310 enhancements" on this forum you'll see some pictures of my 4-in-1 bucket and pallet fork hooks, among other things. There's a post dated 7/26/00 at 3:08 PM that offers the best picture of what you're talking about.

And, to answer your question, they make excellent chain hooks.

Thanks for sending me to such a good thread. I downloaded all of your picts for my own scrapbook. You have a terrific rig and I love the way you've done your own improvements. I'm dying to do the same, but first I need a tractor. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Anyway, your pictures and comments cleared up a lot of questions I had about bucket forks, but now I'm considering a loader rake, as per my recent post.
