We used to own a house in the SF Bay Area, built in 1911. It was all redwood; framing, rafters, roof sheathing and interior paneling. The floors were oak and I think the plaster lathe was pine, but otherwise, all redwood. I loved that house but our little ranch town was fast turning into a @#$% city & we bailed.

Those were sure some monsters taken the ole fashioned way. I get scared cutting 24" diameter stuff..

I love cutting large trees.................dunno why, but the bigger the better for me.

I gotta borrow a saw once the tree gets over about 36 inches though...........my bar is only 16 inches.

I remember logging trucks in the 4th of July parade with 1 monster log 10+ ft. through on them. I remember watching log trucks unload into the log ponds at some of the local mills. We have some big stump-age left on our property. We have an old picture from the Assessors office from the 30ties and you can just make out that there's a steam donkey behind the house. The film looks to be out of Humboldt county.
