Or, Handleys. Best place ever. But, Folsom Calif is a long ways from you :D
I have been using Sheplers for years and years but they are not cheap. They seem to get you in the shipping so I always try to order what I need and think I need at the same time.

Sorry, they can't make the sleeves long (they don't add fabric when they talior they take it away, more on that later). It seems to be that your lean and tall. Some might call you "Slim", try to look for long or tall when looking for shirts.

Ok, that is what I thought but wanted to make sure.

Ok, so a question for you. When you say the sleeves fit if the shoulder seam comes a few inches down your arm, are you saying your cuff is at your wrist? If so, then your sleeves are still not long enough. You need the seem to be at your joint (when you bend your elbow and flap your arm {like a chicken}, feel the joint) for the sleeve to be long enough. The tailor can take in the part from your neck to your shoulder if that is to long. They can take in the body really easy and they can make the sleeves narrower (unless you have guns, haha).

Yes, I am saying the cuff is where it should be but the sleeve is still too short, the shoulder seam is just riding down my arm. So they can make any part of the body smaller, above the arms as well as bellow??

Two numbers, the first is your neck size. The second is the center of your back to shoulder and down your arm to a bent elbow ending at your wrist bone.

Here is a link with a picture of the sleeve length: L.L.Bean Size Chart

If you have more questions, please let me know. I am glad that a man is interested in fitting his clothing well.

That link helps a lot, thank you. How tight should the neck be? I never button the top button so I am not sure how snug the collar I measure should be to get a good fit. Do you have any ideas on how to pick the right size without being able to try the shirt on? Here in western WA we don't have any of the stores mentioned and none of the store here carry this kind of shirt.

That first line in your signature is very true. I have been blessed with great parents and have been raised in the country all my life and I love it!!!

Yes, you can have the part between the collar and the sleeve shortened, be careful of talls that are just in the body (this prevents plumber's crack, but doesn't help long limbed guys) Take your measurement from where you would like the seam to hit your shoulder to your wrist and call or email the company, ask them to measure it for you. It is cheaper then returning something that will never have enough fabric in the sleeve.

Don't choke yourself... Ok a better answer is have someone use the measuring tape below your adams apple (some long-necked guys it is lower). It is pretty crude, but it works. If your not wearing a tie with it and and the collar is left open it won't make much of a difference. Remember that collars are measured to the 1/2 inch so if you want to wear a tie and your neck is 15 1/4 just make it 15 1/2. Here is a picture of a guy that is properly fitted (I think the shoulders are ok, maybe a 1/2" to long). Something to remember is the picture is the model wearing the size that fits him best... he is probably not even a tall.

Just because your long limbed you shouldn't, if your ordering talls, need to go bigger. If your a medium in your T-shirt, you are a medium in your dress shirt. If the company is making tall shirts as they should fit, it is not like your knuckles drag the ground. (Side-note* the other place that you see this is in pregnant women, if they wore a small before the bump they are still a small in maternity, even if they feel like they are 10x bigger)

Western Washington (state), don't you have Seattle??? :confused2:
