LBrown...Are you confined to your home, house arrest or something? Go get some seat time, do a crossword puzzle, see a movie, rake some leaves, clean out your garage, go to Aruba, have a drink, plant some trees, mulch around them, go to the gym, take a drive, go have a good steak, cut the grass, change the oil in your Dodge Stratus, go play basketball, read a book...go have some fun.:D

"The Majority brand being MTD regardless of the Label on the hood."

True most of the cheapies are various MTD built brands, but I meant to fit in the AYP Craftsman/Huskie LT's, and the JD 100's too. The Kubota and Simplicity/AGCO starter LT's... same deal. Some of these might have slightly higher build quality to them and slightly higher prices to boot, but they all use the same basic components (engines/transaxles) and designs. Do they still even make Murray's? (They shouldn't if they still LOL!)

Bought A MTD PowerKrap .Ran ok that summer then never ran right again after that .
Constantly Battled the blasted thing for 11 long years tryin to keep it running.
Finally got fed up with it and bought a new CC 2554 garden tractor ; what I should have done 11 years ago instead of gitting The MTD _ P K.
There is just no comparrison between the box store tractors and a real garden tractor.

You've made it clear in the past that you don't like MTD. They are not for everyone...
But isn't the Cub Cadet you bought a MTD also?

Leroy, altho your cc is a garden tractor & better made than the cheapie MTD's, you still have an MTD tractor.

one point, if you have a fairly new vehicle, it will probably conatin MTD parts if American built. wiring harnesses, switches, etc made by MTD are commonly used in US built vehicles.

Yes, slowrev is correct, this is another division MTD Corp. has in Cleveland, they supply parts mainly to GM and Toyota:

MTD Automotive, a QS 9000 supplier, is a leading manufacturer and global
supplier of automotive component systems. With its efforts concentrated on
two core competencies -- structural underbody systems (including bumper,
chassis and underbody modules) and powertrain systems (including oil pans,
transmission pans, valve cover and heat management modules) -- MTD Automotive provides innovative system solutions to the customer.
