Looking at 40-ish HP options

Nope, specifically so I can trailer it if I need to. Have a 800lb flail mower I can hang off the back if I need the balast.

I believe I am correct saying standard bucket is around 300 pounds, L2296 HD RB bucket is around 400 pounds, so 100 pounds DIFFERENCE.

Do forget to allow for fluids: engine oil, hydraulic fluid and radiator fluid.

It's definitely close but since dealer is doing delivery most of my hauling will probably be local so I'm okay with it.

So - adding in fluids - about 10 gallons, 80 lbs, chains - 20 lbs. + 6,871 = 6,971

Better keep the mud off and transport it without fuel.

Don't disagree that it's close, I may just see if I can find a light weight 10k trailer down the line as truck is rated to 8.5k. Worst case just leave the loader behind if I find I'm over the limit, will have to do that anyway if I'm hauling an implement.

I don't foresee towing a ton and if I do it'll probably be local so I'm not overly stressed about it.

if you are bent on digging your pond on your own, save your tractor and rent something or hire it out - you wont be able to pack the clay adequate for dam leakage w/out something heavier.

Well 3 months later tractor is finally state-side, assembled and heading out to the property on Friday. Will be sure to grab a few photos when it finally shows up.

Tractor arrived as expected, going from a '81 basic gear tractor this is quite a leap. It's hard to describe how weird it is to operate something that's so "turn-key" for lack of a better term. No more glowing 30s before starting, Gear->HST+, loader bucket that curls beyond level, no needing hearing protection at idle or eating diesel fumes, the list goes on.

One hiccup, driver forgot the forks and left them at the dealer which is about ~2 hours away. He's got another delivery nearby so he'll swing by and drop them off then.

Already put it to work hauling out another round bale for the four-leggers and moving a large dirt pile left over from our excavation. For loader work there's no comparison between this and the old Ford. Only surprise so far is the lack of a horn, didn't realize it was an optional item but no big deal.
