Nothing like waiting forever for your tractor.....and then finally getting it.
Congratulations, vvanders, and hope you have all success with your new Kubota!

Yeah, it's a pretty good machine, still learning the limits of what it can do.

Managed to almost get myself stuck today working a material pile from a slight grade. I'm used to 4wd on the Ford which doesn't have a differential for the front axle so when I started spinning while backing up was trying to figure out why the front tires weren't moving while the back was spinning. Was definitely in 4wd and can feel it engage when I shift in in/out.

Diff lock got me out but going to have to play around with it more, that would also explain why the Ford tears up the lawn a lot more despite weighing almost half as much as the L4760. Still I would think that at least one of the front wheels should have been spinning/moving. Going to disable all the HST+ stuff and work then slowly back in so I have a better idea of actually traction limits and transmission behavior.

I get confused on mine as to the lever being up or down for 4wd. Spinning the other day with the loader in mud. The front not spinning, OH, 4wd was not in. Hope it works great you. I only use my horn to make a 4 legger move or to call my wife. It works for the first, but not so good on the second.

Managed to get the tractor properly stuck today, had 4wd engaged with back wheels spinning while neither of the fronts were doing anything. Got unstuck by creeping out with difflock.

Called the dealer and confirmed with the tech that it shouldn't do that in 4wd. At least one of the fronts should have been spinning too. Since they're dropping off a set of forks looks like it's going back to the dealer. Tech suspects that the driveshaft from rear trans didn't get connected quite right.

Kudos on them to owning up to it even though the dealer is ~100mi away.

4wd not being engaged could cause a wreck on a steep down hill.

It should be easy to check yourself by lifting the front wheels off the ground with the loader with it already in 4wd and with an assistant, turning both front wheels the same direction. If the 4wd driveshaft is not connected they'll turn, if it is they won't.

May be something simple like the linkage is disconnected at the shift lever, so while the lever moves, it never actually engages anything.

Yeah, that was the Tech's guess, I definitely get do get resistance engaging the lever so he suggested it's the drive shaft.

Good idea in using the loader to lift the front end, may give that a try bit later. Thankfully we don't have any steep hills on this property.

Any update on why the 4wd wasn’t working on your brand new L4760?
