My new tractor got delivered today! Kubota L3940HST w/ FEL, BH90A, WR Long 60 inch grapple. I already have pallet forks. The FEL, grapple and forks are all SS quick attach. I'd read posts about difficulties w/ getting backhoes on and off so I had the mechanic watch me practice several times. Piece of cake. Actually, the tractor was first delivered three days ago but even the dealer was having trouble reattaching the backhoe. The pin on one side just wouldn't slide into the far hole, even with some vigorous tapping. So he took the tractor back to the dealership. Turns out that there was a small burr at the lip of the hole and the hole was very slightly out of alignment. They milled the edge of the hole (just the edge) and used a press to align the hole better. Fits great. Snug but goes on smoothly.
Although I originally considered the L3240, I went with the increased HP of the L3940 because of the hilly sections I need to mow and the larger attachments I bought, like the 9 ft. (vs. 7.5 ft) backhoe and the 5 ft grapple. The grapple works great! I moved some good sized logs and brush piles that were waiting for this day. I also dug footers and placed 6x6 posts for a lean-to shed I'm building onto the back of my barn. I moved a bunch of gravel, too. The quick attach feature is really nice for swapping out the attachments, which helped me get a lot done my first day. Looking forward to lots more hours working (playing) with this new equipment. I'll also keep reading tractorbynet. So much to learn...
