The height of the ROPS on a 1428V is listed as 79.3" with R-4s, 78.2" with Turfs and 79.1" with Ag R-1.

Well I have just gotten a 2310 and the ROP"S will not go in
a 7 ft gtage door. Good thing I have a 8 ft one next to it.

fluffyone,
I think it was ttnh that made the statement about Case/IH.

Fluffyone,my comment on caseih is not too discourage you or anyone else. case was never big in these parts, IH was heivier and had beter equipment tillage wise. when case took over they droped alot of the IH line of tractors,a friend farmer did buy a new case IH model and had nothing but truoble,it got traded for a JD after 2 yrs. at a loss of course.
But this was also a 90 horse tractor, just a bad taste in my mouth. the smaller ones your looking at are basicly red new hollands.
after all is said it still comes to the chevey/ford thing, most of these tractors are all good, dealers are the big diff. will they work with you or against you

I agree. The 1428v fits in the garage. I still have not figured out how to park in where my wife parks her car!

Thanks for the imput, I really like the red on the DX, I know color is not the only reason. I also like the fit and feel of the NH and Case. NOt sure about the NH new headlights. And supersteer is not an issue for me. The Case Dealer here in town is a long time friend of the family. He also sells KUbota, but once again I like the red. I think a person can get to much information, my head is spinning with weights, capacities, wheel base and many more. But I want to make a move SOON> /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ahh! supersteer, not for me,the geometry of it suggest many problems down the road to me,even moreso with loader on.
Time will tell, but Ive seen broke front ends on regular axles,so not for me.good luck with the caseih, they do look nice don't they.
I remember when New holland made equipment only, Ford,IH.John deere, masey, aliis, were their own componies, inside design, and testing. Now Caseih,Agco, and JD own most real american componies i remember.

I just bought a 1428v yesterday at auction. It came with 1464 FEL and a 5' landscape rake. The machine had 80 hrs on it, Machine appears brand new. I was curious if there is anything I should check on a machine like this that was sold at an auction and I did not get a lot of time to investigate the machine. I got it home today and it runs like a top and all hydraulics work great. This little machine has some decent power behind it. I am also looking into purchasing a rear mounted finish mower, being new to the tractor world I was curious if there is anything I should look for in this implement?

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, and one other thing, since I bought this tractor at auction I did not get any info on this machine(manual) and frankly, I'm not sure what everything does. If anyone knows where I can get this info I'd appreciate it. The MF website gives only basic specs as far as I can see.

Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
