Looking at buying a used Kubota RTV 900 Diesel - NEED ADVICE, PLEASE!

Who is the manufacturer? Where can I look at one? (website would be great)

Mine is Polaris OEM. No idea or clue who actually made it. Evidently I got the very last one existence to fit my 2010 model.

It is very simple; stamped, powder coated steel frame, regular "tube" clamps to mount it to the frame uprights, and the lower mounts have a swing-out mechanism.

Bought the HF Badlands 3500# winch today. Just over $100 with my 20% off coupon. Got it mounted, but not wired. Not sure the battery leads will be long enough, but I'll see. Any tips would be appreciated.

My salesman found this windshield on the net: Seizmik Versa Fold Anybody using this one? What do you think?

Looks good, but if it's OEM Polaris, it won't fit the Kubota.

Well, I'm still learning.
2.2 hours so far. Not much time, but I already love it.

I ordered the Seizmik fold-down windshield from SideBySideStuff.com, along with the Battle Armor side view mirrors. Tracking says delivery on Tuesday.

Bought a HF 3500# winch, but I found out that the battery cables that came with it are too short. They are probably long enough for most ATV's, but not the Bota. Picked up a set of heavy duty 4 gauge jumper cables from WM today for $20. That may become my battery cables, if I don't find something cheaper. Hate to cut up a brand new set of cables, but it beats paying $60 for 20' of #4 wire. I'm open to suggestions here.

New guy on the forum here but here's my 2 cents worth.
The 900 is a really tough machine. I have a 2004 that I bought new and it now has 2320 hours on it. I have a horse farm so it gets used hauling hay bags to stall every day rain or shine. It pulls my welding trailer all over the 25 acres with no problems. It is a fuel sipper unless we use it to pull a small arena drag, then it uses quite a bit more but we pull the drag in low/4wd and pedal on the floor.
Only problems I have ever had(repairing one now) is rear axle joints(only the inboard ones for some reason) and the front axle/cv joints. The fronts can be replaced with complete units from American CV-- way better than the originals, and the rears are a pain in the butt to repair. New axles from Kubota are $350.00 per side, or you can change just the joints. Never had any fuel system issues/ hyd. system issues etc. but I am a retired aircraft mech so I keep up with the maintenance which ain't really much. Have a spare air filter on hand-- air cleaner position really sucks. I put a snorkel on mine with a rain cap and that solved the problem. Hope this answered a few questions you had.

You are correct-- but if you look they are for the X900, not the original 900's which have ujoints instead of the better CV joints. Believe me, I wish you could buy old style axles for $105 instead of $350.00. You can buy just the ujoints and replace them IF the yoke and/or spline is not damaged-- mine were when the joint came apart under a load.

Thanks for looking for me tho--

I love mine, you will love yours too. True the shifting can be a pain. Maybe your 2018 won't have that problem.

Forgot about this thread. I guess I did not notice the "X" I see that Side By Side UTVPARTS list both the X900 and the 900 for $195. shipped. and Sidebystuff.com has the old 900 style for $235. shipped.

FTG-05 That looks nice.....WHAT SIZE are those wheels AND tires? I've been looking for 14" wheels but I see 9" AND 11" wide tires??? I just bought an identical Kubota...your twin.. It has the 12" balloon type....standard tires. I see most aftermarket tires are 6 ply...not good enough? I do thru woods where there are occasional sapling "stobs" sticking up. Thanks
