Well, you cursed me the clutch is starting to slip on the unit now? Again anyway to fix it on these 3 speed units?

Try a cable adjustment first. I have a 5 speed and mine started slipping and all I did was adjust the cable a little and good as new. When the adjustment is all used up I think you have to get a new transmission. I tried rebuilding the old 5 speed I had but I put more money into it than a new one cost.

When you say adjustment you mean just pull the cable sheath back and tighten it in teh clasp holder furtherback where the cable attach to the transmission under the frame correct?

Sort of. The cable should have an adjustment down by the transmission. You may have to remove a cover to get to it. There should be to jam nuts inbetween a metal bracket of some sort. You want to lengthen the sheath to take up the slack in the cable. The clamp a the other end you shouldn't have to move.

Well there is no adjustment under the deck. However there is coll LOOKING push button type adjustment where the cltch engagemnet lever is. You pus the button and pull the sheath and it locks in the next seting. Well clutch engaged great for a second then the fancy push button then ajust mech. gave and put the sheath back at the old position. tried this three times it let loose under engagement every time. Any ideas guys, I am glad it is the top of it's range looks like the clutch is in good shape, just need this cable adjuster to hold position!

Tried all three gears nothing it will kind of start to go then nothing. Ian it did not slip or anything before this even during that mowing session?? Is that the dreaded interal clutch?
