Looking for a log splitter

Hello. Im thinking of buying a log splitter.. as Ive got about 50 trees that have been felled and logged, and I dont fancy doing it all with an axe.. logs range from 10cm- 30cm diameter.. any recommendations? oh and I dont want to spend a fortune on one..

I was contemplating 3PH splitter until I learned the hydraulic flow rate of my tractor was so low splitter operation would be slow.... While procrastinating a used 22 ton came up for $200 with blown motor, new motor and hoses put me in good operation a lot less than 3PH would have cost me.... Now with stand alone splitter my tractor is free to move big stuff onto splitter when its to big/heavy for this old man to handle....

I have the 27 ton Champion log splitter and really like it. I haven't found anything it will not split and I have put some massive splits on that machine. It always starts first or second pull no matter how cold it is. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I have the same splitter. I haven't had mine for very long, but it's surprising how easily it starts. I turn the fuel off after every use and let it run out, but it only takes 2-3 pulls to start it again, the next time I use it. It's really easy to pull the starter cord too.

I don't split at all any more. I cut the fuel logs in to wafers/ rounds that will fit the stove. 4 inch, 6 inch, or so thick. Too wide to fit, and I hit those with the maul to break them. Doing it this way for five years. Its a different style. But for me, Doug Fir mostly, it saves time and stacks better. Its also easier to stack and bring in the house. I found that my wood stove runs hot all the time anyway. So just layering them the right way in the stove gives all the air needed for a clean burn. The chips get reused as starters.
