Here's a photo of what I installed.
The wire from the keyswitch goes to the screw connector above the battery terminal. This isn't ideal design. Its too easy to hit that solenoid terminal with a jumper cable and crank unexpectedly. There should be a rubber shield there. I wrapped mine with electrician's tape.
When I bought my Yanmar it already had a badly-rebuilt starter of this style. (and no protection on that terminal). The wire from the keyswitch had been cut and a 6 inch extension added, because the original starter had its similar terminal on top.
Aside from this awkward terminal I think this starter is a broad-application replacement across many Yanmar and Deere models. Its beefy 2kw cranking power should raise the dead (equipment).

You noted you are replacing a 1.5 kw starter, my application called for 1.2~1.4kw. The tractor cranks like crazy and fires instantly. Via Ebay this cost $100, shipping included.
