Why does it look so "dusted in white"?

Here you go Wooly. This could be you, for only $2500! No more rasseling materials by hand, a 24 hp 'wheelbarrow' is more useful than even a helper. I needed to move this old lumber several hundred ft.

I took this photo for you 20 minutes ago. Aint she purty? ...:D (Well I was better looking 30 years ago too).

It would be great if this looked better but its the capability I keep it for, not its good looks.

She's beautiful! When it comes to tractors, pretty and shiny is all well and good, but a workhorse, that's a way straight to my heart:salute:

Here are roughly 50,000 reasons I could use a tractor with loader:

Our township has been cleaning the ditches on our dirt road. Since the house I've been building is on 60' of shale I could really use some loamy, decent topsoil. They've been kind enough to dump 17 loads of the stuff off the edge of my driveway. There's no way I'll move all that with a wheelbarrow.

My parents went to a 50th wedding reception down near Akron and are on their way to see this as I type. Fingers crossed it's a decent setup and worth buying. I'll post more when I know more.

Oh man that oversize loader is exactly what you need! Tell Dad to just buy the darned thing.

At $2500 you would recover a substantial part of that cost and come out ahead if it failed as soon as you moved all that mulch. And I don't expect it could fail catastrophically, either, if it seems to run ok now.

My father called to say the tractor looks pretty decent. He went over it and, other than some confusion and wonderment at the rear PTO hydraulic pump, he said it looked decent. Small leak in the FEL cylinder, but the loader and 3PT hitch work. No smoke, fluids look good. He thinks it a decent buy so now I'm trying to find a trailer for tomorrow and hunting between all the cushions and under the mattresses to come up with the cash ;)

Fingers crossed tomorrow evening I'll have some photos, taken at my house, to share. I'll do my own review of the machine tomorrow before buying and prior to agreeing on a price but I'm feeling very much like California- even at full price there's some money left over to do some repairs as long as the basics are there.

Anyone interested in a PTO hydraulic pump? There must be something I could use that for right? I guess that could be used for a grapple or such, right?

Hang onto the pump, you never know... I've thought a time or two about having/getting one...

Look what followed me home today! :)WP_20150906_006.jpg

After some trouble with the truck and trailer finally got down to look over this YM240D. It's not pretty, but everything is in working order and the fluids and steering, etc check out. First couple things on my list are fluid and filter changes- seller was pretty honest that he didn't use it much (only for moving saw dust) and hadn't done any recent maintenance- and reversing the front wheels to move them back closer to the center line of the tractor.

I'm also interested in removing the enormous PTO/hydraulic pump and associated hoses.

I can't wait to get started working on her and putting her to work. Thanks for all the input. Couldn't have done this without your input.

I think I did pretty well for $2300. Couldn't be happier!
