Sorry Mark, but I was a "member" of CTOA for many years (CurtN) and the only thing pathetic is the new site. As far as big 3 owners butting in, I can only remember a few over the years that stuck around very long. Most trouble came from OWNERS who wanted to complain about the lack of support they received from a particular dealer or publically proclaiming their regrets for buying a Chinese tractor.

You seem to enjoy the new pay format, great. But it is not the same CTOA it was a year ago.

nope I way dislike the new ctoa site and pay stuff, and only go there about 2 times since it went to pay site. that was just out of total bordome! lol and soon left. the site nortrac is sponcering above is very nice though, and though I've only seen it since yesterday I do like it a lot, and will start looking there at it, NOT the NEW CTOA the NYCTO board. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

While it does have "nortrac" in its URL, I don't think it is sponsored in any way by Northern Tractor. Ray Beck the founder, has a Nortrac, so I assume that is where the name is coming from.

I don’t have DF on the web site anymore for many reasons. Non of which are performance. DF builds a solid Chinese tractor and I liked them a lot especially the 35hp model. Roger Powell stopped importing them so in turn all of us distributors were cut off. I can still buy the tractor direct from the factory but with the current EPA cut off above 26hp there is no good reason to risk fines or jail time. I have a long time friend at the EPA in Wash DC and they are ready with names in hand to start busting heads so to speak. I am too young for jail..... I have enough parts and experience to support my DF customers for a very long time and that is the most important thing for me.

As far as the CTOA, I can only speak for myself and the dealers I know personally. The only reason we are involved with tractor chat rooms is because we like tractors just as much as our customers and it is nice to know you can help once and a while. If I added up all the money I made out of chat rooms it wouldn’t buy a decent lunch. Maybe that’s because what is important to me is having friends online to talk with now and then that share a mutual interest. I am not a member of the new board but I can’t ask Hal or anybody else to do something for nothing. I am sure it takes his personal time and he deserves compensation.

Yes that is true........... Nortrac has nothing at all to do with the site except I own a nortrac. The site is free and there has been no money donate to help in this site. I have taken this on by myself because a site like NYCTO is how I decided to buy my unit. So once again Nortrac has not been involed in its creation nor has contributed $$ to the site in any way. I hope this has explained the sites status. We do ask the dealers, as well as the members, /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif to get involved in helping resolve problems as they are posted. So the name of the site is New York Chinese Tractor Owners. (NYCTO)
