Nice looking truck but that low GVWR would keep me from buying it. 9,900# in a one ton SRW does not cut it. They make them with as much as 11,500# GVWR. Heck, my 04 F-250 had 10,000# GVWR.

Chris

Chris,

I missed that. I also thought the miles were kind of high for that price.

Sorry I'm all late and wrong but coming from a fire department where we have replaced 2 turbos on our 04 f350 6.0 that has 4300 miles, I'm going to recommend any f-series with a 7.3. Probably the best power stroke ever produced. Now, being a cummins owner I always recommend a 5.9 or 6.7 in the dodges 8)

It looks overpriced to me, but maybe thats what 7.3 powerstrokes are going for. I paid about $1500 more for my Dodge, which is a 2004 and had about 105,000 miles on it when I bought it.

the miles don't scare me.. and it's a good looking truck.

the 3.73 rear is a turn off if you may be towing.. though she should scoot fast.

she does look clean and all.. but... I think you can get more for less$

My 99 drw 7.3 auto with (now) 179K, and 4.10 rear was muchmuchmuch less. mind you.. I probably immediatly put in 1200$ of stuff I wanted.. , and my seats and some of the paint aren't as nice.. but.. itsa work truck.. :)

good luck.

IMHO.. keep looking.. a good one IS out there.

I've been hoping you'd chime in.

I'd like to pay less, and spend a few $$$ to make it mine after I buy it. I want a work truck, not a beater, and not a showboat.

My concern on mileage is not the engine, but the rest of the truck. Ball joints, drive shafts, etc.

How badly do those parts wear out?

I do want it kinda clean inside so the wife will ride in it... This one looked REALLY clean... I know those parts wear out also.

I'd already decided to pass, but you make me feel better about that decision!

Thanks SoundGuy.

Well I searched for a 7.3 crew cab dually with 6speed for along time,I found a 99model really nice one. I bought it,pulled my tractors several times, truck was service regular. It had 143,000 miles when bought now with just under 150,000 it is in for major motor work($5grand worth). Its a gamble no matter what you buy used....

Really though, what does it matter? You know the truck can easily handle more than that, and the registration cost is much less for a vehicle under 10k GVW, at least in my state. You worried about the cops?
