looking to add power steering to my B7200

Auto salvage yards could possibly do the same thing, if you knew the make and model of pump/assembly your looking for. Good luck.

I've thought of doing the same to my B7100. I have several old Mustangs and have been thinking that the PS control valve that is used on the older Mustangs could be easily adapted to sense steering input direction. Taking pressure from a small PS pump adapted to run off of the fan belt, pressure could be directed to a double acting hyd cyl that would be attached between the steering linkage and the frame. Finding old control valves is pretty easy as this setup was used on all mid-sized and smaller Fords througout the 60's and even extending in the 70's with the Granada/Monarchs. Control valve rebuild kits are available form Mustang part vendors such as National Parts Depot. They are also available rebuilt from places such as Advance Auto. Any PS pump would work with a V-type Pully. I estimate that a PS set up could be built easily for around $200 depending on how much junk yard hunting you do.

Here are some links to some terrible pictures I took of the hydraulic steering box and ram on a Jacobsen lawn mower I have. It weighs quite a bit on the back end with a diesel engine sitting right above the steer axle, so it should handle the load. #1 and 2 are of the steering control box and 3 and 4 are of the cylinder that actually moves the wheels.
Measurements can be taken if you think I should.

I'm just not sure if that will work. I cannot tell. I'm fabing the the mounts on my mower deck tomorrow so maybe I'll take another look.

I emailed all the suppliers that ya'll gave me and no word. Thanks for all you help. The hunt is still on. Found mower deck. and now I have to find the power steering setup. later

I would be lying if I said I knew it would work. It just seems like a simple way to do it, and since I have the whole mower, I can strip off pretty much the whole steering system and send it your way. Actually making it work on your tractor would require a little bit of work on your part, but with the right help, surely it can be done.
If you think it is a possibility, let me know and I will try and get some better pictures. A few measurements wouldn't hurt either.
I have a project to do right now, but when the dust clears,(or maybe the mud) I will get back to it. Let me know if you want to persue it further, or if you prefer to find a closer match.
