Further follow up. I was having trouble stalling and cloggin my Jimna up. After getting it so stuck I had to loosed all the bolts on the chipping chamber to free it, I made one minor change. The bolts that hold the chute on are far too long and intrude into the chute maybe 1/2 inch. I replaced them with shorter bolts and I have not stalled it since.

The other change I made was to replace the bolt for adjusting the support leg with a clip ring pin. Much easier to use.

Well, I can't say I have not clogged it again. I can tell you this. Chipping rose canes is not fun or a good idea. Besides avaiding the thorns, they clogged the chute at its base.
