I interpret that statement to mean that gasoline can't be stored indefinitely (without degradation) even though stabilizer is added. I don't see a contradiction.

Neither can ULSD diesel for that matter.....

Far as Stihl saws, the new ones aren't nearly as good as the old ones, typical of most modern powertools. made cheaper = more expensive.
