I have no doubt Steve can make you a package deal on most any size you want. 4wd is a major plus, it is always there if you need it and as of late mine has been a necessity. The weight of these tractors is a blessing and a curse. Light enough to not do much damage to soft ground but that works against ground engaging equipment. If I am plowing and loose traction I slip into 4wd and she just hunkers down and keeps on going. While My koyker loader sometimes gets in the way I would not want to be without it, and my 2210BD has plenty enough power to get the full benefit of the loader. BTW, welcome to the forum.

I have the 169D and have to admit that i use my 4wd quite often. It may be a little smaller than the YN 2000 but its perfect for out 4 acres. Our driveawy is pretty steep so i feel a lot safer in 4wd since Ive had bad experiences in 2wd on a hill. The 169D has 19 hp and easily pulls my 4 foot implements and 5 foot rear blade. 4wd was a definate must for me since in the next few months i plan to get a FEL installed. I also use it in snow, mud, and very soft ground. One important thing is that my 169D wont even climb the ramps on the trailer in 2wd unless put into high gear which i dont like doing. ROPS are a very nice feature to my tractor since it can get a little tippy on hills and since the tractor weighs about 1500 pounds, I'd rather it not roll on top of me. Just my 2 cents. :2cents: Good luck with your purchase and when you haul your tractor home, make sure you get some pictures of it. :tractor: :D

Thanks for the comments guys! I've got a lot to think about now. I think I might have to go look at some tractors in person to get a better handle on everything.

I definitely would travel to Fredricks if I need to. He's about 4 hours away, but if the price is right, I might do that. That's the first I've heard about Tullahoma. It looks like they have a good selection. Has anyone dealt with them personally? I guess they don't solely have UTDA tractors, right? If I bought a non-UTDA, I would add ROPS and an overrun clutch. What else does UTDA vertification give to me?

Read the "Reputable Dealer" tread , some coarse posts but good info from ProdaddyTX

Certainly not trying to pick a fight because you seem to know everything about everything. I learned many years ago that opinions are like , well you know everyone has one. Prodaddy is I think 1/2 of RCO Tractors out of Austin Texas. They used to sell VN recons in the early days and when they saw what problems these tractors had like any honorable men they quit dealing with them. They became a member of the UTDA, an organization that LMTC was a/the driving force behind. ProDaddy is a businessman and therefore must be restrained in his speech to some degree. I do not know what bug has crawled up your backside but why not go to the RCO website or Heaven fobid the UTDA website, you just might learn something if you can open that steel trap you call a mind.

I dont think anyone is trying to start something or put down anothers business. but At almost 10K for a 30 yr old machine w/loader i think i would buy a brand new Manihandra for another 3k with a 3 year warrenty or a slightly used JD with 300 hours that 4 years old for 3k more. Or if you want to spend 4K you can buy a ford 3000, which is a man of a tractor and would drag any of our little yannies even 4wd around while he tills the ground. They are solid and have almost twice the power and weight, thats what we like about these is that they are good reliable but are still a deal but it looks like here there may not be a reason to buy them anymore if prices climb, i would buy a ford 2000, 3000 or 4000. Sorry for the rant just trying to say i dont think hes really doggin anybody.

I am southern born and southern raised and was instilled with a fierce sense of right and wrong. If that is a mental issue I am proud of it. And yes, I did do a lot of research before buying. It appears to me that your problem with the price of a UTDA tractor has affected your judgement to the point that you do not believe anything one of these dealers has to say. Do not like the price, that is fine but why discount the knowledge these guys have and are willing to share? I just think you are slamming them way too hard on everything past the prices. I did not buy from Prodaddy because traveling to Austin from here is a journey and traveling to Steve's or Fredricks is just a trip. Now for your "facts"....there was no weapon shown on or off camera, I was well measured in what I said. That night and for a few others there would not have been the choice of **** or jail, now I will accomodate the choice of anyone that I catch on this property at night or day. I worked way too many 60 hour weeks to have what I have/had to let some POS come here and hurt my family or steal what I have left. Feel sorry for those families that lost loved ones, all we lost was stuff.
