I see. I should have taken some pictures. I assume it was 50-100 years of growth. Some of the stumps were pretty large.
They cleared my lot w/a large excavator w/thumb. Left a lot of very large holes in the ground at the time, and big piles of stumps and debris. I guess I was thinking w/a tractor I could do 1 a weekend or something and clean it up gradually over time. Thinking about it now though, that sounds pretty dumb. At this point I'm not sure there is even access for a big machine to get back there though.
What else could I do w/a spot like that? Maybe just plant some saplings amidst the stumps and hope it starts growing back sooner than later?
If I wanted to get back there w/my tractor to do anything I guess bigger tires and higher ground clearance would be a positive, even if it's unrealistic that I'd actually clean it up too much.
But it would be nice to cut a trail around the perimeter of my property... and if I'm making the trail I could avoid large trees. Maybe I'd actually be better off w/something small for cutting trails?
