The concern is often that the new species will outcompete and replace native species... much as bass has done in some of our traditional trout waters up here.

If they get plentiful enough, maybe the price will come down and I won't have to pay so much for the ones I eat.

There's been Crayfish in Michigan for at least 45 years, and I'd assume a lot longer than that. I remember turning over rocks in streams to find them when I lived there as a kid.

Something about this particular variety to cause concern maybe?

BTW...both types bass mentioned love them...as well as just about anything else that eats crustaceans...

Caught a lot of catfish on crawdads; never a bass to my knowledge...and believe it or not, I caught a whopper of a carp on a crawdad.

Isn't the correct term "mud" bugs instead of "mug" bugs?
