Low Hydraulic pressure

   / Low Hydraulic pressure #21
Well....what can I say - were close to 6 weeks now and I still do not have my tractor. Now it is waiting on the 50 hour service......but he hast to get room in his shop, so once again I am on the list.

I called Bobcat Customer Service. They seemed very concerned with my situation, so we shall see what happens. Its snowing too, so I need the unit back.

I asked for a service quote, but service manager could only guess at the $500 mark. Seems a bit stiff to me, but Ill look here to see if that is fair.

I now have the dealers owner cell number - Ill wait to see if customer service can resolve before calling.

Thanks for the help so far

Did I miss something?
What was the cause of the low pressure?
You went from your dealer taking it to another dealer since he was swamped to the 50 hour service.......
:confused2:

I think parts and fluids would be like $250. So, the $500 is in the ballpark. Though, with all your trouble, BC should do it for cost, if not free.

Especially if it ended up being a new pump change out.......the hyd system needs a little housekeeping (clean oil and filters) anyway.......:confused2:

Problem was supposedly unbalanced release valves. Second dealer adjusted them all to be in specifications. However the first dealer forgot to have them do the 50 hour service. First dealer picked it up and brought it back - forgetting about the other issues, like the 50 hour service and a sticking go peddle and damaged seat switch. They could have had them do it while it was there:confused2:

Go figure - we will see if I get a call tomorrow. Not a happy camper right now :(

:) Happy ending
Delivered today and the dealer settled the missing credit in my favor. He was very humble in it taking so long. Makes me feel good that folks still care to make it right. I will continue to use him for my service needs.

Hydraulic issue was in fact a dirty pressure modulation valve. With it being cleaned and the full service, the problem should not return. I have not had a chance to run it (had cataract surgery this morning), but from what I saw the hydraulics are responding much more quickly than what they were.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions

Update and Merry Christmas

Had a chance to run it this week. Power is back and everything is fine. It easily lifts the front end off the ground now which it would not do before. Break out force is great.

I will need to get used to the faster response too....managed to scare myself a bit lifting stuff up in the barn to my son to put away. Good thing I was practicing safe lifting with him staying clear until I had everything locked. Lets just say up was faster than expected and I bent something

One question for snow folks. I have the box blade set so the back blade runs about an inch off the gravel. I used the high adjustment to rock/tilt the blade towards tractor so ripper teeth make ground contact first when moving in reverse. Its a gravel drive way. I have also learned how the float works on the front bucket to plow forward with the bucket front lip set just up from level. (I had only use it to back drag before) Bucket runs on it bottom in this mode. (indicator rod come in handy for this.

Am I working the system right for snow removal or are there any other tricks?

Happy Holidays - Keith:thumbsup:

I'm in snow country. This is what I have/do for snow clearing.

I use my CT230 and the bucket the first couple of inches of snow. I pack that into the gravel driveway. Then I switch to my JD 76" blower. I have a top-n-tilt and use that to adjust the cutting edge on the blower so that is leaves a dusting behind without sucking up rocks.

Once you have that base of hard pack snow you can get more aggressive on the cutting edge and you won't suck gravel.

The only portion of the driveway that I have problems with is where the wind strips the packed snow off the gravel.

I also use the FEL for back blading around the garage door and other nooks and crannys.

Good that you got it fixed and power is back to where it should be. Enjoy your snow removing duties:thumbsup:
