I was in TSC today after my welding class and saw those! Made me think of your post. Only 89 cents each!

When you said that you bent them straight, did you bend the little loop straight up so that you can screw it into the back? So now the loop is parallel with the mounting tube? Did you heat them when you bent them?

I am taking your idea and fabricating a couple of attachment plates, one of which is the trailer hitch. I picked up one of those at a local trailer supply house.

I could weld it to the plate with angle gussets, or do something like the cut down frame that you have. I was thinking that those tubes might just come in handy for mounting a removeable square tube on the side with an edger disc?

Didn't heat the tine. Put the small loop in vise inserted pipe through the spring loop and twisted straight.. Attachment is front view of receiver hitch welded to 1/4" plate. Second post is the back of quick attach plate..

This is the rear of the quick attach plate the hitch is bolted to. The bolt shown center bottom is the type of cap screw you must use.

( I'll post a front view. I had an old class III hitch for a Bronco. I cut the wings away that would have bolted to the frame of the Bronco. Cut a 1/4" plate close to the shape of the quick attach plate and welded it to that plate. I had a quick attach plate that I had purchased it came with holes drilled in it. I counter sunk the existing holes and I bolt the 1/4" plate to the quick attach. You must counter sink because the back of the quick attach plate must be flat.. My next attachment to be bolted to this quick attach plate will be some kind of ripper. These attachments wouldn't be used a lot and I think I can handle the time it takes to mount them on the quick attach plate when I want to use one of them..

Did you buy the predrilled attachment plate from Power-trac? A plate like that would be handy to have around to hook up to misc stuff now and than.

Yes I purchased the quick attach plate from PT and it came with seven pre drilled holes.. I had to countersink the holes.
I used the trencher the other day and noticed the trencher is bolted to the quick attach plate. The holes in the trencher plate are countersunk. You could most likely order a plate for the trencher and it should come with the countersinking already completed..

Hey Clarke:

Here's my tow hitch that was inspired from your post, thanks!

Now I just have to figure out what attachments I want to make for the receiver.

I'm thinking the Rake, Lift Boom and Disc Edger.

The difference in mine is that some of my attachments will be receiver mounted instead of changing the plate.

Looks tuff. You could weld up a nice ripper shank to go in the receiver that could rip coming or going.

Good Idea, Looks like it will save some quick plates and some time on the receiver attachments.

Fabricated a ripper. Works good loosening my clay soil so I can dig easily with the bucket..
