Lower 3PH arm braces?

   / Lower 3PH arm braces? #11
Saturday morning I went to my dealer (McMaster New Holland in Decatur, Texas) and it turns out the Service manager, Glen, had the ASIST program open on his PC. He checked the number and put my arms on order. He said they should arrive by next Tuesday, but I'll probably not pick them up until July 5th. I'm going to install the new arms and take the old ones back to him. Spencer, thanks again for the great tip./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Lift arms on backorder

Wouldn't you know it. The lift arms for the Class III Boomers are now "NBO" with no promise date on delivery. Seems there has suddenly been a instant demand and all in stock have been depleted.... You don't think it had something to do with this post here on TBN, do you? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Oh well, I'll just have to be patient and wait for my pieces to arrive. While I was at my dealer the service manager showed me his shelf of "fame" (shame?) where he keeps damaged lift arms. I saw one that looked like the letter "C" and another that was broken. The strange thing about the broken one was the break was not at any of the holes for mounting the lift link to the rock-shaft. It broke in solid metal. Who would have guessed?/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Re: Lift arms on backorder

I just bought a TC40. How would I know by looking at the arms whether they're the new improved ones or the older soft ones? I wouldn't want to wait until my warranty is expired to find out that I have the soft arms.

Thanks!

Re: Lift arms on backorder

Thanks for the info. Now to ask a really stupid question: where can I find the serial number on my tractor?

Thanks!!

Re: Lift arms on backorder

There should be a plate with the serial number stamped on it on the frame under the left hand side. It is right behind where the parking brake is.

Re: Lift arms on backorder

The serial number should also be on your sales contract/documentation if you bought your tractor new. If you bought it recently, it probably has the new (and improved?) lift arms. Anyhow, as Brad said, the serial number plate is under/behind the left-hand side step of the operator's platform. It's on a shiny silver plate about 2" tall x 3" wide which is mounted on the running gear behind the brake pedals.

Re: Lift arms on backorder

Thanks for all the very useful info! I've determined that my TC40 has an older serial number, so it should have the stronger arms installed. Is there a way I can tell by looking at the arms whether the upgraded arms have already been installed? I don't want to call my dealer about this if he's already installed the upgrade.

Thanks
