Just a not parts should be here tomorow.

The bearing was I think actually broken after the loss of fluid and then driving it back to the shed.

When I was talking about moving the tractor around with the backhoe: I was really putting not only the weight of the tractor high into the air, but also using the hydralics to push the tractor forward or back. Sometimes in mud and against tree parts etc..

I promise to change the oil and be nicer to my tractor!

Got the parts and proceeded with job. Unfortunately I only ordered one of the half moon keepers. I didn't notice you had to order two since they were the same part number. I tried to use one of the old ones.....NO LUCK getting the gear to slip over the keepers. I am headed 40 miles to Kubota dealer in Mims Fl who says they have them in stock. Local dealer in Orlando didn't have any. The saga continues.

JOB DONE "Nothing makes a man Happier than to get his tractor back!"

The old keeper was sprung just enough to keep large gear from going onto shaft completely. New keepers and it slipped right on. I then tapped the new inner bearing I picked up at the dealer on spline and tapped it on with rubber hammer. Slipped whole unit together tightened it up added about 6 quarts of fluid until it was weeping out plug hole.
Went to work with tractor will try and change the oil later HHAHAHAHAHAH

FYI the bearings and keepers were about 1/2 price than what I got online. Bearing was $16.00. A 3" schedule 40 pvc was perfect to tap on bearings and remove old one.

As a bit of info for those buying bearings in Canada:

for an L5030,
The lower stub axle bearing that the lower pinion sits inside is a TMB 209.
The outer wheel bearing is a Koyo 6209 C3
The inner wheel bearing is a Koyo 6208
