Tractor
n/a
I was thinking about getting my 1st tractor. I have just a few projects and then I wouldn't need one. However, I was thinking of starting a bush hogging/tractor services business. If I do 1 or 2 jobs a month...to make the payment..I essentially have a free tractor.

I really want a 35HP...but I don't think it's in the budget. I really like the Kioti CK3510...but again..price is a factor.

I've found a TYM dealer about an hour away that has a 'package' for about 25k. Tractor with loader, grapple, rotary cutter and 20ft trailer! That's less than just the kioti tractor and loader!!! Yes it's only 25 HP....but again...price.

I've tested driven some LS models. They seem ok....but I don't know if they are as good as TYM. Are they? I know like 4 or 5 people that have them and they seem happy. The Ls dealer is really close to me. I like the MT225e except for the loader joystick...way too short!!!

And, if I can be honest..I'm a little intimidated of a 20 ft trailer. It takes a 10 acre field to turn my supercrew F150 around...lol.

Thanks in advance.

If you can, sit on everyone that you are considering. Ergonomics are a huge factor in not getting warn out while using the machine. Maybe look at Summit Tractors. They are supposed to be fairly well-equipped even with the base model.

Good luck with your search.

For now I'm happy with my LS but would not shy away from the other brands. Good and bad in all of them, there is no right answer in my opinion. Only what works for you.

Kioti has the CX2510 and it's a tough little machine, and I can't recommend the Kioti CK2610 enough. The LS MT225E and smaller MT225S are both solid in their own right. TYM has the 2515 which is a legacy Branson model, and it's an excellent machine; TYM also has the T25, and it's nice, but a step down in size. These are all 25 horsepower tractors that are also big sellers for their respective brands. I'm obviously partial to Kioti, but I doubt you can go wrong with any of them.

Try them out, find the one that fits you, and a dealer you trust.

Yeah..the T264 or T25 are the ones in the 25k package.

I just saw a Larry stoves and equipment video on YouTube and he has this week's special pick 3 of CK2620 with 20ft trailer for $33,500. I really would love to have a kioti...but $8500 is a lot of change.
Yes I know the ck2620 can do a little more work than a T25....but 8500 is 8500! Lol

Do you think NOW is the time to buy? Or would waiting till next spring be better? Do you think tractor prices will go down if they keep having inventory and no one is buying them....????

Tractor prices are not going down.

I wouldn’t be afraid of an LS. I have a big one that is extremely well-built and well thought out. I believe that the quality and proximity of the dealer for the brand you choose is critical.

Nothing bad to say about my LS or the dealer. But the TYM seems to offer more bang for the buck. For my uses FEL capacity is very important. TYM shines above the LS on that.

If I were you, I would form an LLC and get insurance in case (or for when) you get sued. Also, talk to your insurance agent about using your personal truck for running a business.

I have all most 300 hours on my 2 year old LS and it has done every thing I have asked it to do plus more.

It is very well made and it is the best tractor I think I could of got.

Dealer support is very important, don't underestimate it. All tractors have good and bad. Make sure you're happy with your dealer.
Bought a TYM recently. Happy with it and my dealer. Ordered some parts for it when I bought it. Still waiting.
I believe prices will start to fall, I think the market has kind of dried up.
I expect it's time for the economy to fall. You want to be the guy with money in your pocket when that happens.

I think a lot of a tractors reliability rests on the owner and how it’s cared for. Ours is always indoors.

I spent 2 years researching 14+ brands and countless models. TYM ended up being the best option for me. More features that matter to me for less money. The dealer also cared about my business.

I would say your package deal seems high for what you are getting.

Check out big tex tractors. They list their package prices online. They sell nation-wide, but even if you don't buy from them, you can use the pricing to negotiate.

I really appreciate yours and everyone's replies.

Why do you think the package is high? Coming with a loader, grapple and Rotary cutter and trailer...I thought it was a Decent "deal" for T25. I like that tractor as I've watched Tony's tractor adventures on YT. He used that and his T494. He did some impressive stuff just to show that the T25 could do it.

I'll check that link out...thanks again!

A 25hp tractor will operate a 5' cutter with the speed of travel depending on how thick the material is being cut and depending on whether it's gear drive, powershift or HST. 35hp moves up to 6' cutter. That extra foot makes a lot of difference in time if you're cutting a large area. That extra $8,000 or $10,000 or whatever it is might be a better investment long term if you really need the 35 hp or larger tractor, but the question is what do you really need?

There are several different frame and tire sizes in the 25HP market.
The larger and heavier frame and tire size would be a major consideration for me.
Also the larger the engine for the same HP is something I lean towards.

Also as a note just because Ford says you F150 can tow 11,000 pounds doesn't mean it will do it safely and reliably,
also it will require brakes on both trailer axles and an equalizer hitch.

The way I priced out my package was to put all the prices separately. Figure out what each of the components and use the cheapest price you can find. My T574H with box blade and pallet forks was just over $30k. Get the specific make and model and options on your trailer and implements. Usually, they will be low-end as part of the package. I just did a quick search and I can get the grapple, cutter and trailer for $6250. The 2515h is more machine than the T25 and is only 22900 with mower and box blade. Swapping the grapple for the box blade is maybe another $600-1000. The trailer about $3500. I am just spit balling here. Talk to them to get a real price. I think you will be happy. They have T25 available, too if you really want that model.
