LT 16 starting problem

I thought I had a dead battery. I tried to jump it with battery hooked up and without only get a clicking sound ???

Check your safety switches. PTO,brake,seat etc.

thanks for the reply. I do not know how to diagnos or locate the saftey switch/s, I do not own a work manual.

On my trim mower the seat switch trans neutral and PTO have indicator lights that will tell you they are working. I can't tell you how many times someone has my "....." won't start and the trannie is not in neutral PTO not off parking brake not set etc.

thanks for the reply. Dropped it off at the shop yesterday. Should know something by the 22nd of the month.

It's not a safety switch. You won't get anything with a switch open.

The 'click' is likely the starter solenoid, so I'd guess that the starter itself is dead. It could be as simple as a loose wire.
