No I haven't Bill. That's why I couldn't recommend anything previously. But, the few suggestions others have provided sound reasonable. I'd try the WD-40 lubricant myself. That seems to loosen up just about anything I have.

The easiest way to fix your joystick is to remove the seat, there are four bolts, a 13mm socket works, Then remove the range shift knobs by popping off the orange caps and removing the bolt with a 10mm socket, then just pull them off. Use the same socket to remove the remaining bolts that hold the entire black plastic molded peice on. Then pull the rate of drop knob for the rockshaft off. lift the molded plastic off, you can fit the knob that raises and loweres the r.shaft between the slot that is provided. with the plastic out of the way follow the joystick to where it bolts to the tractor. remove this bolt with a 13mm wrench and socket. this will allow you to see the hyme joint that allows free rotation of the j-stick. lube this and move it around with pliers to free it up. then dry it off and apply a liberial amount of anti -sieze to this hyme joint . it looks like a ball with a hole in it. then reassemble, I guarantee this will fix the problem.

Thanks JJC, I think I might try to talk my dealer into doing it under warranty. If not, I'll do exactly what you recommended. I was wondering how much stuff you have to remove to get at the joint. Seems like an hour or so should get it done.
Thanks again,
Kyle

Welcome JJC!

Since you've had that side of the tractor apart I have a question! Any estimate on how difficult it is to install the 3rd SCV kit? My dealer wants $200 to install it. I've been pondering doing it myself.

Thanks!

Andy

Andy, 3rd scv's are easy to install, on large frame models even easier, you dont even have to take the tire off. If you have a med. frame you will have to remove the right hand weldement plate if you have a BH installed. remove the RR tire, then the RR fender, Use a bungee strap to hold the fender out of the way. Then remove the seat, and the black molded plastic. After this is off flip it upside down and look for the indentation in front of the r.shaft lever opening. Use a dremel to remove the plastic on the mark provided, This is where the new handle will go through. Then locate the valve assy. and remove the two allen head plugsand install the provided fittings then install the prebent pipes onto these fittings, The fwd most pipe requires the loosening of the second inboard rear pipe since it has to go behind it and clearence is tight, Then "thread" the new handle into position and secure with the hardware included in the kit, this is the tricky part since the handle has a weird shape and may require unbolting of the joystick linkage to get it in. then reinstall the plastic, the seat, and the fender. Then use snap ring pliers to install the quick disconnect fittings to the bracket . install the rubber caps and the last two pipe connections. hold the bracket tight to the fender mark and drill three holes and secure with bolts provided, then try it, test for leaks and thats it. Nothin to it.

JJC,

Thanks for the thorough reply. There is no info in your bio, but based on the response to my question, you clearly have considerable experience. When are you moving to central Iowa? Welcome to the forums. I look forward to hearing more from you in the future.

Bill
