Lucas oil stanilizer

I dont like lucas either. Why not just add a quart of 85w140 gear oil in there? Worse yet, its pertol base. So why am I spending the extra $$$ to run full syn.

You could put chainsaw bar oil (with tackifiers) in that little plastic crank thing at napa and it would look better than the lucas. Does that mean its better in my engine?

Oh I won't **** anything outright. In the past I have used either Lucas or something similar to "Fix" a slipping auto tranny. Whatever it was it swelled the bands and worked like a charm. No magic bullet by far but it did enable me to take a dead auto tranny and drive it another year and trash it out with the car still running. I also had a leaky seal on a hydraulic stabilizer on the nose gear of a Cessna. It was one of those leaky overly tiny things that was a pain to remove and affected nothing but wheel shimmy. It was winter and I didn't want to freeze so I topped it off with that seal swelling stuff. It worked so well that it held for the next couple years. I've also seen MMO unlock sticking hydraulic valves on more than a couple occasions on both cars and aircraft.
Some of this stuff works and some of it doesn't . I don't mind the stuff that just is snake oil but the things like Lucas tranny oil that causes foaming really torque my bones. As it always was you can trust just about anybody else's opinion BUT the manufacturer when it comes to making the decision of whether to use it. Myself I find it often comes down to " what have I got to lose" on something that is going to get trashed anyways when I decide to try something. Anything in nice shape clean and well kept up gets nothing extra.

How do you know the results are good? Other operators have more hours on the same equipment without potions, elixers and sorcery and no problems.
The only thing Lucas etc is good for is reducing leaks by swelling and softening old worn hardened seals.
