Would be easier to conjure up some magic medication potion that will bring you back to your old self in less than 24 hours, than it would be for men to understand the operating system of the female of the species. When we are old and wise, we come to the realization that there are things a man just does not know . . . at least when it comes to the distaff side. Maybe that's part of the allure.

garycw thankyou for your post. I keep warning people not to be starting equipment with a screwdriver instead of repairing the machine but receive only mockery in response.

There's nothing wrong with starting a machine with a screwdriver,
I've done it many times, I'm sure many of us here have also,,
You just need to be Aware of your surroundings and be focused.
Us poor people cannot afford the luxury of calling in mechanics all the time,
we do what we have to do, could this accident have been avoided,,
only the OP knows that for sure, **** happens, we all know the rules I for one hate the term,,
"I told you so"...things happen for a reason, this could be a blessing in disguise for Gary.
Brighter days ahead for you Gary, I'm sure.

She sold a $4000 truck yesterday ( to her cousin) I believe for $500.

Was your name on the title to it? If it was, she just committed fraud because you didn't sign it. I would guess the local license bureau would be interested to hear that. If it wasn't, she just donated $3500 to her cousin (hopefully you didn't contribute to her payments).

Hope the healing continues rapidly, both physical and emotional.

Thanks again bumper. Yes they're hard to understand. Just when I thought I'd reached my low point of the year being ran over by the tractor, loosing the woman of my dreams feels even worse. If I had done anything to deserve it, it'd be my fault. To loose her over hearsay rumor is like twisting the knife.

Oh man, tell your fiance that you are in fact getting screwed; by her cousin! If you're fiance wants to believe her cousin's lies over you then she gets what she deserves, screwed by the 'cuz too. What nonsense! And if that's how it's going to be with her you're better off without her anyway, sorry to say...
Better to get out now if it's going to go downhill/sideways.

Who needs a mechanic to repair a starter or starting circuit? A rather simple device and circuit.

Very well said guys. A woman's mind is a mysterious thing sometimes. Luckily she called me today asking how to run the dvr cameras back and had a civil conversation for 30 min. I tried to explain over phone how to get back to date on a 16 Ch dvr to pull full screen up. ??? She's unfortunstly not very technically minded which is ok, but I'm more hands on. I think I gotten her to agree to let me go there and run back and burn into dvd. Complete with time/ date stamps.
When she called I jumped up without walker before I knew it. Now my leg hurts a little more again. Not only the one with new hip , but the other leg that's black & blue with broken toes is now felling the pain more. I guess it's still part of the healing process as more of the numbness fades the pain takes its place.
All in all I am getting better :)
As to whether this accident could have been avoided ??? ABSOLUTLY!!

Never leave the engine running to get out and check on the snow blower. Better yet, remove the key from the ignition so a helpful child or spouse doesn't turn it on while you're in the augers.

I do it every year. I know it's not the safest thing to do, but I still do it.
