LX178 Manual

I just picked up an LX178 for $600! The guy had it listed for $775, I talked him down to $700, then he talked himself down to $600! (He also threw in a newer set of rear tires for free when I came back to pick it up!)


This is my first LT, and my first JD.

I'd love to get a copy of the manual as well if at all possible. I left you a PM with my email.

Wife & I purchased a small horse property a few years back. It came with a JD LX178 which has been great. Just broke the drive belt.
I purchase a replacement but sure could use instructions on how to install it....or maybe a copy of the shop manual. Either would be of

Took mine out for the first time last Thursday. The lawn hadn't been cut in a couple weeks, so there were some spots of really dense, tall grass. I had to go over it a few times, but the tractor itself did great! I do think I need to get the blades sharpened though.


The only issue with it is that it surges and won't run at low RPM without being under load (i.e. deck engaged). I'm thinking it's just a dirty carb. I plan to run this tank of gas through it then see if I can find some ethanol free gas and run that and a can of Seafoam through it to see if she perks back up.

A friend gave me his LX178 KI have changed all the
fluids and a fresh battery will not turn over. Joe will you please send me a manual?

Just purchased home and the LX178 was included. Seems to run okay but having some flickering lights on the dash. Could you please send me the link to the service manual. I would like to get the owners manual too but can purchase that. Thanks in advance.

had the mower to bits today and have noticed i have about 4 blades missing from the white fan on top of the hydro, i take it i need to get a new one as it can't be efficient like that, trouble is i go on eBay uk and the only stuff i can find is in the USA with big postage costs, obviously i see where you are but wondered if you knew of anywhere in the uk that does second hand stuff.
