M59 Troubles

Had a Hydraulic leak under the M59. Was a manifold that feeds one of the backhoe ports and (I think the extra power ports on the loader) Well, anyway come to find out Kubota had put Pipe fittings in a British Manifold threads. I took the right tire & fender off to get to it and then took the part to my hydraulic shop and they determined the problem, My Dealer said Kubota wanted $600. for the part. I have less than 400 hrs. on the M59 and have had many problems, I'm not impressed with Kubota quality. I have over 7K hrs on John Deere tractor's and have never had the quality problems that I've had with this Kubota. I just bought a JD 5085M from my local dealer that also sells Kubota's and they told me they don't want to sell the M59.

If you bought the tractor new, then the dealer you bought it from should help you out. If it was truly a factory mistake, ask the dealer to get the factory rep involved. However, it could have been the dealer if they installed the 3rd function. Either way, I think you or the hydraulic shop could run a tap in to cleanup the threads and put in the correct fitting. As BSBP hydraulic fittings typically use an o-ring on the face, it should seal.

I added rear auxiliary hydraulics to my M59 a while back; did the work myself, using the kit Kubota provides for the M59. Anyway, this gets plumbed in near the power beyond and backhoe feed on the right side, about where you describe, maybe the same fittings. Everything installed looked fine to me and the quality of the parts in the Kubota rear hydraulics kit were first rate (also quite expensive, about 2.2K for the kit). No leaks so far and no mismatched fittings.
