Hey guys I have to answer the question about the M6040 being more expensive then the M7040 its because over a certain amount of Hp you don't pay the enviromental tax thats why.Besides the 2 are the same I have the M6040 coming next week

Priced them both two months ago and the 7040 was $1500 more if equipped the same.

Wait... there is a cheaper su version of the 7040, was that it?

May be on to something there. Back when I bought mine, '06 I think. With same setup the 6040 was 15 hundred over the 5040. The 7040 was 15 hundred over the 6040.

Hi there Biksim about the paying more bit it doesn't really matter how you look at it we all have to pay the tax on equipment.We also buy what is best for our farms.

Environmental tax? Haven't heard that one yet but was informed that prices will increase on all Kubotas when the Tier 4 stuff kicks in beginning in 2012. I think the 6040 vs 7040 difference is related to the Special Utility (SUD) version of the 7040.

I agree. One should buy what they feel will meet their needs and situation. Each one is different. I was just stating the diference in sticker price on the three units. Last time I bought a tractor I shopped real hard between a N.H TN75, J.D.5425 and Kubota 7040. Bought the least expensive. Don't follow you on the tax.

I'm not sure, but I believe the little tractor tax is a Canadian thing. We all know that really big tractors are much more environmentally friendly. Some of our crowd up must have slipped up there and started making the rules.:confused2:
