M7040/8540 vs TN75

( I currently have a TN75D. This my second TN. My dealer who my family has done business with since the 50's sells both Kubota and Mew Holland. When I was looking and was seriously thinking of the Kubota, my dealer shook hi shead and said go with the TN. I'll also say that the New Hollands ard just built stronger. I spend a fair amount of time wanderig around the service department and have seen several Kubota's of various sizes with the rear of the differential ripped out. I've never seen that on a New Holland. I asked the service manager about it and he confirmed my suspicions. I'm very satisfied with my TN.

That's interesting in as much as I found the opposite to be true when I was shopping for a bigger unit. I checked out the NH TN's as I buy NH haying implements and I had the dealer demo one on the farm as I also had the Kubota Dealer do. I ran both the TN and M9 doing field work and felt the M9 was a stronger, better built unit. In the end I ordered a new M9. I guess it's apples to apples but the M9 was a few grand cheaper optioned the same way and 4.99 for 8 years was the clincher.

7 Kubota's and counting. That's not to say I would not, at some point in the future change colors, but I have had 0 problems with any Kubota tractor and I use them hard.

What he said pertains more to the smaller Kubotas vrs the smaller TC's. I've never seen the rear housing ripped out of a 5030 or higher.

That's the difference in weight I was referring to - I like heavier too /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I looked at the Kubota's too when initially shopping and the TN fit me alot better than the Kubota, plus I like the open platform area on the TN too - makes it alot easier getting on and off without having to step over all those levers mounted in the middle of the platform. Maybe this newer Kubota does not have this issue - I couldn't tell from the pics.

Thanks all. I did go to the kubota dealership yesterday and they have a rops m7040hd. It looks nice and he said he'd bring it out for me to try. I have another question though. I mow 3 acres of pasture now with an acreease mower pulled behind my kubota rtv. Monday I rolled the rtv mowing a hillside. Dropped the downhill front tire in a hole and that was it. Will either of these tractors be more stable or more unstable on the hills. Also does the cab make the tractor more stable or unstable. The TN is about 10" shorter and heavier which I think should make it more stable. Thanks.

I love the Kubotas. I love the NH. I prefer NH for one main feature they have, a height adjustable seat. Now, the M7040/8540 may have a height adjustable seat, I don't know. But the Kubota Grand L5030 does not (non cab model). I am 6'2" and I need the seat to be raised. Sadly, the Grand L5030 does not allow height adjustment. And to make things worse, I love the Kubota dealer, they are awesome. They brought out a Grand L3830 for me try on my land for 4 hours to make sure it met my needs. Can it get any better than that????

So in my case, choosing a tractor can be determined by something as simple as a seat.
