Mackissic TPH122 wood chipper/shredder arriving tomorrow

I just used some waste 2x4s and plywood, made into a platform. Then attached some castors underneath. Do this for all the implements, except the back blade. Putting it down on concrete or some 1 bys on the ground is fine for it. Just put castors at the end of a 1by underneath the connection end of the brush hog. Lot easier to attach and detach implements if you can easily move them around.

Guess I've got a new project for next weekend!! The dolly idea is pretty good, I've only hooked mine up 3 times now, but it was a real pain to move around and it took about 10-15 minutes every time.

Well, I finally got to really use it this afternoon, and I'm still amazed. I chipped/shredded a huge pile of limbs in about 1.5 hrs. I was in too big a hurry to get started, so I didn't get a 'before' photo, but I did get a few 'after' photos.

One thing I did notice, is that having the discharge flapper in the middle position seemed to work better.

I remove the flapper and reinstall it at the bottom of the unit to prevent chips from falling out the bottom. I then take a cart and place it in front of the chipper and fill the cart with chips and then move the cart to where I want the chips. The chips are blown from the unit into the cart. I wear a full face protection as well as hard hat and hearing protection is a must. I also put a tarp on the ground to catch anything that may drop on the ground so clean up is fast too. This way I can chip where the stuff is instead of hauling the wood to one place.

The movers dolly was cheaper then buying 4 caster wheels so I went that route. I have all my toys on dollies, makes moving and set up so much faster.:D
