i built our range as our road was in risk of washing out. the road is next to a creek. the road is on the edge of a hill. at about 15 to 18 feet above gthe bottom land i built the bench for shooting and added a skeet thrower on a post.
so i am shooting from above and downward. there are no rocks in the soil - none for richojettes spelling?
the targets are placed so bullets hit into the ground or into the old creek banks. the creek was rerouted to save the road.
for targets we use:
2 posts with 1* across beaver board is mounted so i can staple targets to it. 5 of these
i made a frame of landscape timbers and hung full sized rams (cut from 3/8 inch steel hung with chain
old posts drilled with rebar through this .....welded bars, washers, smaller silohette steel tagets to 1/2 inch pipe ...... rebar was drilled placed in cotter key washer target on pipe washer cotter key we have about 50 of these
we have 2 heavy steel plates hung at 100 and 125 yards
we have slots cut in landscape timbers so we can stand clay pigeons on edge
this is our 22 range
behind this 1 mile of pure woods before the next out building.....
we shoot high powers only into paper
